RELIABLE
Reliability was the key focus when designing the new Malibu Monsoon direct injection engines, with engines subject to over 5000 hours of rigorous testing before production started. The world first F.E.A.D. (Front End Accessory Drive) system is at the core of the new design’s reliability – it makes everything in the engine simpler, eliminating failure points and using glycol for cooling so that critical engine components are not compromised by raw water exposure. The Malibu Monsoon engines are exclusive to Malibu and built from the ground up in our purpose built, start of the art facility at Malibu Boats USA.
POWERFUL
It’s not how fast you can pull a rider or skier (that’s horse power), it’s about getting the rider out of the hole quickly and consistently with a boat full of ballast and friends – and that’s all about torque curve. This has been the driving factor behind the Malibu Monsoon direct injection engines. M5Di, M6Di are tailor made by Malibu for water sports – meaning maximum power is delivered early in the torque curve to give you a boat that never bogs down. The Monsoon’s custom tailored gear ratios act as torque multipliers to deliver even more power when you need it.

Higher compression of Malibu’s direct injection engines, along with acoustic foam and cast iron manifolds that wrap around the cylinder heads all combine to make the quietest engine ever experienced in the history of Malibu Boats.

Malibu Monsoon engines are also the greenest engines the tow boat industry has ever seen. They don’t just meet CARB (California Air Resources Board) five star emission standards, they exceed them. The engines are certified 5 star ultraclean with 50% lower emissions than 4 star ratings on other tow boats. The lowest emissions in the tow boat industry and best in class fuel economy is made possible thanks to direct injection technology. The drive train has been tuned to give the most power at the lowest RPMs – exactly what you need for water sports. Best in class fuel efficiency and the lowest emissions in the industry are only available on Malibu and Axis. The Malibu Monsoon LT4 is the only supercharged towboat engine with a 4 star emissions rating, and has the best emissions rating in any of our engines with this level of power.

The simple answer is … everything.Our dealers have a direct line to the Australian factory which means they can work quickly to address any issues that might crop up before, during or after the production of your ski, wakeboard or wake surf boat.
And because your Malibu Boat is entirely handcrafted in Australia, every single part needed to make the boat is available from our Australian warehouse. Replacement parts are usually available at your dealer the next day, so we can get you back on the water ASAP. And not just current year boats. Our massive factory warehouse stores parts for current and recent model years, as well as stock of high demand parts for models dating back to 1995. Every new Malibu boat sold in Australia and New Zealand is meticulously handcrafted by highly trained local technicians.
From spraying the outer gelcoat to laminating layer upon layer of fiberglass to installing and polishing interior and exterior hardware to hand-stitching and fitting the upholstery, a dedicated team of exceptional Australian boat-builders craft every Malibu – by hand.
We conduct detailed quality control inspections after every step in the production line, and we lake-test all boats at Lake Hume, just a few minutes from the Albury factory. Our goal is to ensure that your Malibu Boat leaves the factory in as perfect condition as human hands can produce.
THE AUSTRALIAN STORY
Malibu Boats Pty Ltd, has been building premium quality American designed ski boats in Australia since 1995.
Driven by the desire to produce something of much higher quality and performance than was available at the time, Xavier West, approached Malibu in the USA about his ambitious dream. A meeting with Malibu President Robert Alkema was arranged in California and shortly thereafter, an agreement was reached to build their boats in Australia.
West wanted to build the best boats in the country, and provide water ski enthusiast with new, state of the art, modern designs that were of a much higher quality than anything else available. This has proven to be a master stroke as Malibu leads the industry with the creation of new and innovative designs like our V25 Wake and Cut Diamond hulls, our Frameless Vented Windscreen and the patented Power Wedge which have helped make Malibu Boats the most popular and desirable family tow boats in Australia today.
Today, Malibu Boats Australia Pty Ltd employs up to 60 regional Australians and is a proud contributor to the Australian manufacturing industry.

Be careful to ensure your Limited Warranty is applicable in Australia. Malibu Boats boats manufactured outside of Australia and imported into Australia or New Zealand (aka ‘grey imports’) are not covered by the Limited Warranty provided by Malibu Boats, LLC (Malibu USA) or Malibu Boats Pty Ltd (Malibu Australia). Further, Malibu Australia does not provide a Limited Warranty for Malibu Boats boats sold or distributed by anyone other than Malibu Australia. If you are looking to buy a new or used Malibu Boats boat, don’t get caught with an imported boat that is not supported by a Limited Warranty provided by Malibu USA or Malibu Australia. You can make sure your boat is a genuine Malibu Australia boat by checking the easy to find Hull Identification Number (HIN) embossed into the starboard side of the transom or contacting an authorised Malibu Australia Dealer. Malibu Australia boats are built to a standard specific for Australian conditions, using materials to suit the Australian environment. Boats sold or imported by Malibu Australia will be covered by the Malibu Australia Limited Warranty provided you comply with the required registration or transfer requirements (please refer to the relevant Limited Warranty documentation provided with your boat, or contact a dealer for more information).
